Generic Safety Measures

By registering for any TANE event, you acknowledge and agree to the following Safety Measures:

  • At TANE, your safety and enjoyment are our top priorities. As we come together to celebrate our culture and heritage, we ask all participants to take note of the following safety measures to ensure a safe and enjoyable event for everyone.
 

1. Pre-Event Preparation

  • Health Check: If you are feeling unwell or have been in contact with anyone diagnosed with an infectious illness, please refrain from attending the event. Your health and the health of others are of utmost importance.
  • Event Attire: Dress comfortably and appropriately for the weather. Wear bright or traditional clothing that allows for easy movement if participating in performances or activities.

2. Arrival and Check-In

  • Arrive Early: To avoid congestion and ensure a smooth check-in process, please arrive at least 30 minutes before the event starts.
  • Event Entry: Follow the instructions of event staff and volunteers during the check-in process. Please have your registration confirmation or ticket ready for quick access.
  • Bag Checks: For security purposes, bags may be subject to inspection upon entry. We advise you to carry only essential items.

3. During the Event

  • Follow Event Guidelines: Respect all event rules and follow the instructions provided by the event organizers and volunteers.
  • Safety of Children: If you’re attending with children, ensure they are supervised at all times. Children should remain with their guardians or in designated children’s areas.
  • Emergency Exits: Familiarise yourself with the location of emergency exits. In the event of an emergency, remain calm and follow the guidance of event staff.
  • Medical Assistance: A first aid station will be available on-site. If you or someone near you requires medical attention, please notify the nearest volunteer or staff member immediately.

4. COVID-19 Safety Measures

  • Health Precautions: If you have symptoms of COVID-19 or have been in contact with a confirmed case, please do not attend the event.
  • Social Distancing: Where possible, maintain a safe distance from other attendees, especially in crowded areas.
  • Face Masks: Masks are encouraged in crowded indoor areas. Please respect others’ comfort levels regarding social distancing and mask-wearing.
  • Sanitisation: Hand sanitizers will be available throughout the venue. Please use them regularly, especially before eating or after touching communal surfaces.

5. Cultural Performances and Activities

  • Stage Safety: If you’re participating in performances, follow all stage instructions and be mindful of equipment, wires, and other participants.
  • Cultural Displays: Respect the cultural displays and exhibits. Do not touch or disturb exhibits unless explicitly allowed.
  • Crowd Control: Please avoid pushing or shoving in crowded areas, particularly near the stage or performance areas.

6. After the Event

  • Safe Departure: Leave the venue calmly and avoid rushing towards the exits. Follow the instructions of event staff to ensure a smooth exit for all attendees.
  • Lost and Found: Check for personal belongings before leaving. If you’ve lost something, please report it to the event’s lost and found station before departing.

7. Emergency Contact Information

  • Emergency Numbers: Keep the event’s emergency contact numbers saved on your phone. In case of any urgent situations, notify event staff immediately.
  • Designated Meeting Point: Establish a designated meeting point with family or friends in case you get separated during the event.

By attending this cultural gathering, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the safety measures. You agree to abide by all event guidelines and accept personal responsibility for your health and safety during the event.

By registering for any TANE Marathon event, you acknowledge and agree to the following Safety Measures:

  • At TANE, your safety is our top priority. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or participating in your first marathon, we want to ensure that everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience. Please take the time to read through the following safety measures:

    1. Pre-Event Health Check

    • Medical Clearance: Ensure you are in good health and physically capable of participating. If you have any medical conditions, please consult with your doctor before the event.
    • Hydration and Nutrition: Stay hydrated and maintain a balanced diet in the days leading up to the marathon. Avoid heavy meals or alcohol the night before the race.

    2. On the Day of the Event

    • Arrive Early: Please arrive at least one hour before the start time to familiarize yourself with the event layout and procedures.
    • Warm-Up Exercises: Engage in proper stretching and warm-up exercises to prepare your muscles and joints for the run.
    • Wear Appropriate Gear: Wear comfortable running shoes and attire suitable for the weather. Bright or reflective clothing is recommended for visibility.

    3. During the Marathon

    • Follow the Route: Stay on the designated marathon route at all times. Volunteers and signage will be present to guide you.
    • Pace Yourself: Start at a comfortable pace and listen to your body. Don’t push yourself too hard, especially in the early stages of the run.
    • Hydration Stations: Water stations will be available along the route. Stay hydrated by drinking water regularly, but avoid excessive consumption.
    • Medical Assistance: If you feel unwell at any point, please stop and seek help from the nearest volunteer or medical station. First aid and medical personnel will be on standby throughout the event.

    4. COVID-19 Safety Measures

    • Social Distancing: Maintain a safe distance from other runners whenever possible, especially at the start line and during registration.
    • Face Masks: While masks are not required while running, please wear a mask during registration and any pre-race gatherings.
    • Sanitisation: Hand sanitisers will be available at various points. Please use them regularly.
    • Health Screening: Participants may be subject to temperature checks and health screenings before the race. If you have any symptoms of COVID-19, please refrain from attending.

    5. Post-Marathon Care

    • Cool Down: After crossing the finish line, take time to cool down and stretch. This will help prevent muscle cramps and stiffness.
    • Rehydrate and Refuel: Drink plenty of water and consume light snacks to replenish your energy levels.
    • Seek Medical Attention if Needed. If you experience any unusual pain or discomfort after the race, visit the medical tent or seek medical attention immediately.
